Do's
- Obtain Valid Permits Before Entry: Obtain the required permits before entering the Park and strictly follow all Forest Department rules and regulations.
- Use an Authorised Nature Guide: Use the services of an authorised Nature Guide. Trained guides can assist with wildlife sightings, interpretation and safe navigation through the forest.
- Drive Slowly and Carefully: A slow and quiet safari allows you to observe wildlife and enjoy the natural surroundings without causing unnecessary disturbance.
- Stay on Designated Roads: Stay on designated roads and safari trails. Do not drive off-track, as this can damage vegetation and disturb resting animals or their young.
- Maintain Safe Distance from Wildlife: Respect wild animals and remember that the forest is their natural home.
- Keep Noise to a Minimum: Switch off car stereos and avoid loud conversations so that you can enjoy the natural sounds of the forest and improve your chances of observing wildlife.
- Wear Natural or Subdued Colours: Wear natural or subdued colours where possible, as bright colours may disturb or attract the attention of wildlife.
- Carry Binoculars and Camera: Carry a camera and binoculars to enjoy and photograph wildlife responsibly.
Don'ts
- No Firearms or Prohibited Items: Do not carry firearms or other prohibited items into the Park.
- No Smoking or Fires: Do not smoke or light fires inside the forest. Even a small accidental fire can cause serious damage to wildlife and vegetation.
- Do Not Leave the Vehicle: Do not get out of your safari vehicle except at officially designated and permitted locations.
- Never Feed or Tease Wildlife: Do not feed, chase, tease or attempt to attract wildlife.
- Rajaji Is Not a Zoo: Do not expect to see wildlife at every moment. Rajaji is a natural forest, not a zoo; enjoy its forests, rivers, grasslands and landscapes as well as its wildlife.
- Tiger Sightings Are Unpredictable: Do not be disappointed if you do not see a tiger. Wildlife sightings are unpredictable, and every safari offers an opportunity to experience different species and natural habitats.
- No Alcohol or Non-Vegetarian Food: Alcohol and non-vegetarian food are not permitted inside the Park, subject to applicable Park regulations.
- Do Not Litter: Carry all non-biodegradable waste, including plastic, cans, glass bottles, wrappers and metal foils, back with you and dispose of it at the designated facility outside the Park.
- Do Not Disturb the Environment: Avoid plucking flowers, damaging plants, collecting natural materials or otherwise altering the forest.
