Rajaji Safari Booking: How to Book a Jeep Safari Step by Step

Rajaji safari booking step by step: the visitor details and ID you need, how confirmation works, gate reporting times, and the cancellation and refund rules.

Rajaji safari booking is simple once you know what the Forest Department needs from you. Permits are processed with each visitor's details, vehicles are limited, and timings are strict at the gate. This guide walks through each step, the documents to carry, and the cancellation and refund points to read before you pay.

## Before you start

Have these details ready:

- Travel date and slot: morning or afternoon/evening, subject to availability in your chosen zone
- Safari zone: for example Chilla, Motichur, Ranipur, Mohand–Chillawali, Jhilmil Jheel or Gohri
- Visitor details: full name, age and gender of every traveller
- Identity documents: valid ID for each visitor; foreign nationals may be asked for passport details
- Group size: a gypsy takes up to 6 persons

Advance booking is recommended for weekends, public holidays and peak tourist periods, because demand can exceed the number of vehicles available.

## Rajaji safari booking step by step

### Step 1: Choose your date, slot and zone

Pick your date and your preferred slot. Zone availability depends on the season, forest regulations and permit quotas. Chilla, Motichur, Ranipur and Mohand–Chillawali are generally open from 15 November to 15 June. Jhilmil Jheel is generally open from October to June, and Gohri Range is generally open all year except August and September. At Chilla you can also ask about the early-morning elephant safari, which runs subject to availability.

### Step 2: Share visitor details

Give the name, age and gender of every traveller, along with their identity document details. These are needed for permit processing. Children above 11 years are charged the applicable park entry fee.

### Step 3: Submit your booking request

Fill in the booking form on our website with your preferred date, zone, number of visitors and contact details. If you would rather speak to someone, the booking team is on +91 98298 50501, +91 93765 91390 and +91 99829 07130.

### Step 4: Complete the payment

Pay the applicable safari and booking charges as advised during booking. Entry fees, gypsy hire and guide fees are separate charges.

### Step 5: Receive your confirmation

After confirmation, the booking details, reporting location, contact information and permit information, where applicable, are shared by email or WhatsApp. You should get your booking confirmation within the hour, subject to permit availability.

### Step 6: Reach the gate on time

Reach the designated entry gate before the reporting time on your permit or booking confirmation. Carry the booking confirmation and your original identity documents, and follow the instructions of the Rajaji Tiger Reserve and Forest Department staff.

## Safari timings and reporting

For Chilla, Motichur, Ranipur and Mohand–Chillawali, the entry timings change with the season:

- 15 November to 15 February: morning 6:30 AM to 8:00 AM, afternoon 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM
- 16 February to 15 April: morning 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM, afternoon 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM
- 16 April to 15 June: morning 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM, afternoon 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM

Jhilmil Jheel and Gohri Range publish their own timings, and our team will confirm the right one for your zone. A typical jeep safari lasts about 2.5 to 3 hours.

The most important rule is to arrive at the gate at least 20 minutes before the reporting or last-entry time on your permit. Guests who arrive after the permitted time may be denied entry, and in that case the safari fee is not refundable. Before you travel, check the final date, timing, zone and reporting details on your permit or booking confirmation.

## Cancellation, changes and refunds

Read these points before you pay:

- Changes after the permit is issued: changes to the safari date, slot or zone may not be permitted, subject to the rules of the Forest Department.
- Cancellations and refunds: any cancellation, change or refund request is handled strictly according to the Forest Department and park rules and the terms of the booking. Where those rules do not allow a refund or change, no refund is given.
- Cancellations beyond our control: if a safari is cancelled, suspended or does not run because of natural calamities, adverse weather, government or Forest Department restrictions, wildlife safety concerns or park closure, no refund is provided.
- Late arrival: entry may be refused and the safari fee is not refundable.

## Other terms worth knowing

- Nature guide: an authorised nature guide is mandatory with each safari vehicle wherever park and Forest Department rules require one.
- Student concession: available only for recognised institutional educational tours, subject to Forest Department rules, eligibility and approval.
- Inside the park: do not leave the vehicle except at designated points, do not smoke or light fires, and do not carry firearms. Alcohol and non-vegetarian food are not permitted.
- Sightings: wildlife sightings are not guaranteed and depend on animal movement, season, weather and habitat conditions.

This is a private booking assistance service, not an official government website. All permits, fees and operating conditions are subject to the approval of the Forest Department authorities.

When your details are ready, send your request through our booking page and our team will check availability for your date and zone.
