Rajaji Jeep Safari Price and Entry Fees Explained

Rajaji jeep safari price explained: park entry fees, vehicle permits, gypsy hire, guide and elephant ride charges, Jhilmil Jheel fees and filming charges.

The Rajaji jeep safari price is not one single ticket. Your total is built from a park entry fee for each visitor, a vehicle permit, the gypsy hire and, if you want one, a guide. This post sets out the figures in the published Tickets, Entry Fees and Safari Charges list so you can work out your own cost.

Fees are set by the Forest Department and can change without prior notice. Treat the figures below as a reference and confirm the current rates when you book.

## Park entry fee

This applies at Chilla, Haridwar/Ranipur, Motichur and Chillawali/Mohand:

- Indian visitors: ₹150 per person
- Foreign visitors: ₹600 per person

Children above 11 years are charged the applicable park entry fee.

## Vehicle or jeep permit

- Indian visitors: ₹250 per vehicle
- Foreign visitors: ₹500 per vehicle

## Rajaji jeep safari price: gypsy hire

The gypsy safari cost is set per gate, and vehicle hire is separate from the entry and permit charges.

- Chilla, Motichur, Ranipur and Mohand–Chillawali: ₹3,500 per vehicle
- Jhilmil Jheel: ₹3,500 per vehicle
- Gohri Range: ₹3,500 per vehicle
- Indicative hire for Indian visitors: ₹3,500 per vehicle
- Indicative hire for foreign visitors: ₹3,500 to ₹4,000 per vehicle
- Maximum capacity: up to 6 persons per vehicle, subject to applicable rules

After obtaining the entry permit, visitors pay the jeep safari fare at their selected entry gate. A typical safari lasts about 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on the zone, route and conditions.

## Jhilmil Jheel entry charges

Jhilmil Jheel is not in the park entry list above. It has its own entry ticket and permit charges:

- Indian visitors: ₹200 per person
- Indian permit fee: ₹300
- Foreign visitors: ₹800 per person
- Foreign permit fee: ₹400

## Guide charges

A trained nature guide can tell you about the forest, wildlife, birds, habitats and local biodiversity during the safari. Guide fees vary by safari zone, guide category and applicable rules.

- General guide (if needed): ₹1,000
- Experienced bird and wildlife guide: ₹1,200 to ₹1,800

Where the Forest Department or a particular zone requires a guide, visitors must follow that rule.

## Elephant ride

The elephant ride is an early-morning option, subject to availability.

- Indian visitors: approximately ₹1,200 to ₹1,500
- Foreign visitors: a higher rate, to be confirmed at the gate

## Photography and filming fees

Photography and commercial filming inside protected areas may need prior permission and the applicable fees.

- Fixed or movie camera, non-commercial: no fee for Indian or foreign visitors
- Movie camera or video, commercial: ₹500 Indian, ₹1,500 foreign
- Feature film, filming fee per day: ₹1,00,000 Indian, ₹2,00,000 foreign
- Documentary film, filming fee per day: ₹10,000 Indian, ₹30,000 foreign
- Refundable security money, feature film: ₹1,00,000 Indian, ₹2,00,000 foreign, per film
- Refundable security money, documentary film: ₹50,000 Indian, ₹1,00,000 foreign, per film

## How to work out your total

Add up these parts:

- Entry: the per-person entry fee for every visitor, or Jhilmil Jheel's own ticket and permit
- Permit: one vehicle permit for each gypsy in the main zones
- Vehicle: the gypsy hire for each vehicle
- Guide: a guide fee, if you take a guide or the zone requires one
- Extras: an elephant ride, if one is available and you book it

A group of up to six people can share one gypsy, so the vehicle costs are split across the group. Entry, gypsy hire and guide fees are always separate charges.

## Concessions

Student concessions are available only for recognised institutional educational tours, subject to Forest Department rules, eligibility and approval.

## Book early in peak periods

Safari vehicles and permits are subject to availability. Advance booking is recommended for weekends, public holidays and peak tourist periods, as demand can exceed the number of vehicles.

Fees are set by the Forest Department and can change at any time. When you book through our booking page, our team will confirm the current charges for your date, zone and group before you pay.
